its all about the automobile

I spent a considerable amount of this weekend researching information for a Management project on the Chinese Auto industry. This got me curious on what is being done to reduce the impact we have on the environment through our cars.

UPDATE on my Sustainable Efforts

Unplug: This continues to be an easy task, especially with my new MacBook and its state of the art power management features i am going one step beyond turing off all my power chargers. The Apple OSX power management features automatically shut down my external hard drives and other components connected to the MacBook.

Buy Local: I continue to skirt the fine line on this one being extremely good with some products and not so much with others but i like to think i am improving. This weeks purchase was locally caught shrimp, got a great deal on them too.

Refuse Plastic: With my reusable shopping bags this has become a worry of the past also recently at Tech Tonic show at WWU i also managed to snag another smaller reusable shopping bag with a very neat looking Apple logo on it.

Convert a Friend: With 2 weeks remaining in the academic quarter, time for small talk and conversations about the environment has been limited. This has led to no recruitment this week but i hope to get back to it soon.

Until next time.
